Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz (born on 10 January 1993), known professionally as Rauw Alejandro, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. The name is often referred to as the "King of the New Reggaeton",[2][3] he belongs to "the younger generation" of Puerto Rican urban musicians. [4] His debut studio album, Afrodisiaco, was released in November of the year 2020. Vice Versa, his second studio album came out in June of 2021. It featured the lead single "Todo de Ti". He's won two Latin Grammy Awards from twelve nominations. Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz was born on January 10 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father, guitarist Raul Ocasio, along with his mother who was the backing vocalist Maria Nelly Ruiz, introduced him to a variety of music influences, including Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. Six years ago, Alejandro and his father lived in the continental United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where his inspiration came from the R&B and dancehall genres. Alejandro and Anuel an ally, a other Puerto Rican rapper, were childhood acquaintances. They both attended the same high school and took part in classes. [9][10] Alejandro was a part of school talent shows in his early years because he is a dancer. He enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico after having graduated from high school. From the age of six until the age of 20 He played soccer but then he decided to quit because he "could not perform as he was expected to" and suffered an injury in the age of 20. To be scouted for the Premier Development League (PDL), he moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's style of music is Latin R&B and reggaeton. Also, he enjoys songs that are rhythmic and ballads. Billboard stated that this has helped him distinguish himself from a increasing number of reggaetoneros who lean towards pop. He was influenced early on by Presley and Jackson as well as later on by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, as well as Chris Brown.
