Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. At the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals at a single Games and she was the first gymnast to earn three consecutive world all-around titles (2013-15). Biles was raised in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her younger sister Adria had been adopted by grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her daycare instructor Aimee Borman when she was just six years old. She stayed at Bannon's Gymnastix for eleven years. Biles took home a gold medal for floor exercises and also a bronze in vault during the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite gymnastics in the year 2011. Within less than two years, she had become the top athlete in her field. Biles was distinguished by her consistent performance, exuberant personality as well as the difficult routines she performed at the four events she competed in: vaulting, uneven bars, and balance beam.
